Boot Camp week 3
Well boot camp has gotten a lot easier. My knees have stopped hurting from running and I am not is so much pain. We had a few days off so that really helped. I am even getting better at running. It's not totally there yet but it's ok. I just need to bring oxygen with me when I do run!

Boot Camp Day 5&6
OK OK OK! So I over slept yesterday and missed boot camp.
I was really sad that I missed a day, but since this is a long term thing I think I will be ok. So today is officially the end of my first full week. Now, we are told not to get on a scale, but I had to know if I had made any progress in one week. So with hesitation I stepped on the scale and SURPRISE,SURPRISE I lost 3.5 pounds. I am just so exited! Now only 16.5 pounds to go by Sept 15th.
I did make it to boot camp today and again I forgot my book. So you know I had to do my "encouragement" exercises but I was not alone this time almost everyone had to join me. Today was a little different because we ran and then we would stop and exercise and then we would run some more and exercise. MY trainer even committed that my running had gotten allot better. Now I still do the run walk thing but I am doing allot more running than before. I can honestly say that this is the best thing I have ever done. I am sticking to my diet and it was hard today because they were giving away Chic-fil-a sandwiches at lunch and I had an apple. I love that little chicken sandwich. Dam office people!!!

Boot Camp Day 4
Man it was so hard to get out of bed this morning! It took everything I had just to roll my feet out of bed. I did not want to go to boot camp today, but I went.
We had to work out with weights today. It's really hard to run and hold two 10 pound weights over your head, but that's what we did. I am still not a runner and today was not a good running day for me. I have to run everyday no matter what. Having 2 days off is great but my body was not ready for the work we put in this morning.
I had to do a little extra work this morning. The trainer calls it "encouragement". I forgot to write down what I ate over the weekend and when he asked to see our books I had that "I forgot my homework look". You know that look, everyone knows that look. You kind of look down at your feet and hope the teacher does not call on you. Unfortunately it never works. He asked for my book first and I knew I was in trouble. So I had a few extra squats. Trust me I will not forget again!!!!

Boot Camp Day 3
Well it's Sunday and I am about to start on my first full week of boot camp. Friday was by far a little easier, but not by much. We had a substitute trainer since our regular trainer is on vacation. I was really hoping that boot camp would be canceled. Paul McCartney was set to give a concert in the park and we could not get in. "Who knew that it was possible to lock down a whole park".
Our new trainer made sure we did not get off easy. We ran around all the open places we could find around the park and we had to work out where ever we could. We did more running than ever and I managed to keep up a little better. It was hard since the draw string on my shorts broke and I spent most of the class trying not to moon everyone. LOL!!!
I have had 2 days off now and my body is finally starting to feel better, but I know this week is going to be killer. I am looking forward to it!!!! :)

Boot Camp Day 2
Day 2:
Today was just a little easier, but not by much. I have to work on my running. I did a little better and lasted just a few seconds longer than yesterday when we did our first run. I swear I saw my life pass before my eyes when we had to run up and down stairs. Anyone one who knows me knows that I am an elevator man. Stairs!!!! Are you crazy! My trainer was so encouraging and even though I had to do a walk/run combo I made it for two sets.
Today we worked on arms with a resistance band. I kind thought to myself "hell yea this will be easy". Once we started I could barely keep up! Who knew you could do so many things with a big rubber band. Once we finished that and a few other things we did resistance sprints. That is where you put the band around your waste and someone pulls the band while you run at top speed. Everyone did 4 sets and my trainer was going to let me slide with just 2, but I pushed myself to do all 4. I was so proud that I was able to complete day 2. I am really soar but I just know that it will get better over time.
I am truly enjoying every minute of boot camp! I am looking forward to what the weeks will bring and how I will change. 20 pounds in 4 weeks is my first goal.

Boot Camp Day 1
So who would have guessed that there is actually an affordable boot camp in Atlanta. I joined and today was my first day. I barely slept because I was so nervous. It's like waiting for the first day of school. I got there are 5:45am and waited for everyone to arrive. The instructor showed up and everyone started handing her books. I was thinking "what is the book all about". They are food journals. She viewed every ones journal and gave advice on what to eat and how to improve eating habits. I was like "hey that's cool they actually monitor what you eat as well".
The head trainer Shannon showed up and he introduced himself and then he said those words I did not want to hear "LETS RUN". I took out running and I was doing ok for the first 30 or 40 feet. Then my body started talking to me and it was saying "What the hell are you doing!" The trainer stayed behind with me and we started doing a run/walk. She would run me to a certain point and then we would walk a little and run a little. So I did my running and then we moved on to an intense 50 minute workout on abs. It was hard but everyone was so encouraging.
I did exercises that I have not done since gym class in middle school plus a few that I had never heard of. I did ok today...not good not bad but ok. I have to go 5 days a week and if I miss a class or if anyone misses a class we do extra work. So I am in this for keeps. Most of the people in the class have been doing it for months. They say it is more affordable than a gym trainer and they all have had great results. I only hope to have the same results. So tonight I have to run and try to run some everyday. Brian is going to help me with my running. I am looking forward to tommorow.
